Multi-factor Authentication
You likely would already be using some cloud service(s) which force you to enable this, such as Xero. Traditionally, you would get a code sent to your phone which you would enter after entering your password. SMS authentication is not considered as safe as using an Authenticator app, because the code could be intercepted. This is when you have an app and a set of codes that change every 30 seconds.
Always check if any cloud service offers MFA, and if it does, turning it on is a must! If you’re not sure if you’re account can be secured using MFA, check out our handy common cloud services checklist!
